AT&T Launches the LG Shine

AT&T and LG today announced the availability of the new Shine by LG, a stylish new multimedia device for mobile phone users who want to stand out in a crowd. Originally announced in October 2006, the Shine by LG arrived in stores Nov. 23, the day after Thanksgiving — "Black Friday." The Shine by LG is a sliding form-factor device, offered exclusively through AT&T, that features a silver exterior and comes with video, music and camera features and a 2.2-inch mirror LCD screen.

The device is pre-loaded with the best of AT&T's features, including AT&T Video Share, Mobile Banking, AT&T Mobile Music and more. The Shine by LG is designed to satisfy the needs of mobile phone users who want style and glamour in their state-of-the-art mobile device and wireless service.

Additional features on the Shine by LG include a 2.0-megapixel camera with video record and Bluetooth 2.0 capability for music and voice. The body of the Shine by LG is an elegant metal body surrounding the mirror LCD screen.

AT&T Announces the SLM by Samsung

AT&T Inc. today announced the future availability of the SLM by Samsung, Samsung's newest lightweight mobile phone with music and multimedia capabilities.

The SLM by Samsung will be in stores beginning Nov. 23 and is the first of the company's music phones to feature Napster Mobile, a new service that enables AT&T's wireless customers to easily search a music catalog of 5 million songs, preview samples of each song and purchase and download songs to their SLM in less than a minute.

Exclusive to AT&T, the SLM is a durable, brushed-metal finish clamshell-shaped device that will be available first in brown and then blue later this year.

The SLM is packed with features and services beyond Napster Mobile, including AT&T Video Share, mobile banking, AT&T Mobile Music, stereo Bluetooth technology, a 2.0-megapixel camera with video capture, external memory microSD and advanced messaging options. Weighing just 3.17 ounces and measuring about one-half of an inch thick, the SLM features a 96- by 96-pixel 65K color external screen and a 176- by 220-pixel 262K TFT internal color screen.

AT&T Completes Acquisition of Dobson Communications (Cellular One)

AT&T Inc. today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Dobson Communications Corporation, a provider of rural and suburban wireless communications services under the Cellular One brand. The combination of the two companies' wireless networks will allow AT&T to deliver broader wireless coverage to customers, including to nearly 1.7 million Dobson subscribers.1

The two companies have a long-standing relationship as roaming partners, and AT&T expects a smooth transition. AT&T will immediately begin to implement a carefully planned process to integrate the Dobson and AT&T wireless networks, combine product portfolios and merge customer care initiatives.

The merger extends AT&T's coverage and services into a number of primarily rural and suburban areas in Alaska, Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
